WORSHIP

Informal

Faith United Church has chosen not to erect a building. Instead, worship services are held in the Little Theatre in La Salle Secondary School at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. We enter through the front entrance of the school and head into the Theatre on the left, just past the “coffee and snack” table. From the time one enters, some enjoy chatting and camaraderie while others are free to sit and think. When the minister comes to the podium to say good morning, people are anxious to take their seats and respectfully begin worship.

Choir members stay seated in the congregation with their friends and family. This also enhances the congregational singing.

Although there are no stain glass windows or a huge pipe organ, the atmosphere with our Yamaha/organ brings the Little Theatre to life. The acoustics enhance the sound of speaking and singing.

Inclusive

When the Christ Candle and the Rainbow Candle are lit and the service begins, we are reminded that we are all God’s children and welcome in this place.  As well as candles, there are gifts of a feather, sweet grass and painted rocks from our Indigenous friends.

The Little Theatre, washrooms and facilities are all accessible.

Children are encouraged to stay in the service or, if they wish, an enthusiastic qualified teacher always has a lesson ready. This is Kids’Quest. The choir loves singing and is open to all- no auditions!

Inspiring

Faith United Church’s vision is to encourage and support each person’s unique journey of faith. The minister’s reflections, prayers and music are based on wisdom from the Bible and other sources, and are always relevant to our lives and the times in which we live.

Faith worship services are Informal, Inclusive and Inspiring.
